August 12, 2008: Jake Baysinger of La Salle, Colorado committed suicide earlier in the summer, apparently believing that life wasn't worth living.  His loyal German Shepherd, Cash, had another position on the issue, stubbornly guarding the body of his one-time master for six weeks until authorities found his remains.  The dog, dehydrated and emaciated, apparently survived on rabbits and other small animals.  Cash tracked down Kip Konig and kept jumping into the front seat of his pickup truck, telling him something was wrong.  He led Kip to the body.  Authorities believed that Cash had protected the body against marauding coyotes. < Prev   Next >
