Sounds crazy, but there is a Politicial Action Committee or PAC that's hoping to fetch a $3,500 tax deduction treat for owners of pets.  The organization which sits in Washignton, DC is called PetPAC, led by Bill Hernby, is spearheading support for HR 3501, the HAPPY Act.  The bill was introduced by Congressman Thaddeus McCotter a Republican from Michigan.  HR-3501, entitled, "Humanity and Pets Partnered Through the Years" calls for pet owners to deduct up to $3,500 from their taxable income for qualified expenses incurred in caring for the pets.  Canine Americans everywhere rejoice.  To date, the bill has no co-sponsor.
