August 20, 2008: One again, no change in leadership: China has won the most Gold Medals, while the US leads in the overall medal count. Russia has moved up to third place in the medal count, though Britain is number three in the Gold Medal tally. Australia trails Britain in the overall medal count, while South Korea has dropped to seventh place in the Gold Medal standings. Hungary has won four silver medals, but has yet to earn a Gold Medal. A total of 79 countries have won medals so far at the Beijing Olympics. The medal tally table follows.
