September 13, 2008: The number of people killed in the September 12 crash of a Metrolink commuter train collision with a freight train is now approaching twenty-four.  The rescue operation is now being classified as a recovery effort.  More bodies are expected to be removed from the wreckage.

A Metrolink spokeswoman, Denise Tyrrell, stated that engineer of the Metrolink train appeared to have failed to stop at a signal.  Moments later, the train collided with an oncoming freight train in the vicinity of Chatsworth, California.  The engineer is believed to be among those who perished in the crash.  While the official death toll now stands at eighteen, a coroner from Los Angeles County reported that the count does not include several bodies in the train that could be seen but not recovered.

September 13, 2008: So Jerry Seinfeld and Bill Gates have been coupled and charged with revitalizing the image of Microsoft [NASDAQ:MSFT] and its lackluster Windows product, Vista.  I don't know if you're familiar with the great quantum leap in GUIness known as Vista, but it's everything the critics said it is and less.  It's a little like NASA announcing that they're going to send a man to Tampa and return him safely to Cape Canaveral.  Anyhoo, I happen to hate the product but enjoyed the commercials.   Microsoft isn't the only company to launch an expensive and somewhat confusing campaign.  Orangina launched an interesting campaign in France.  The commercial is somewhat suggestive, there, I got you to click, and wouldn't make it on broadcast TV in the US.  Here it is in all its glory.
