Finally, there are two key earnings announcements this week which will be closely watched by Wall Street.  Goldman Sachs [NYSE:GS] reports on Tuesday, while Morgan Stanley [NYSE:MS] issues its report on Wednesday.   The Federal Reserve meetings to discuss monetary policy on Tuesday and the Commerce Department releases the Consumer Price Index figures too.

A Metrolink spokeswoman, Denise Tyrrell, stated that engineer of the Metrolink train appeared to have failed to stop at a signal.  Moments later, the train collided with an oncoming freight train in the vicinity of Chatsworth, California.  The engineer is believed to be among those who perished in the crash.  While the official death toll now stands at eighteen, a coroner from Los Angeles County reported that the count does not include several bodies in the train that could be seen but not recovered.   What is a seiche?
