The luxury resort is located on a peninsula on Lough Erne. The complex is isolated on 600 acres of rolling hills and will offer a secluded location for world leaders to meet. The G8 is a forum for the heads of government of the world's eight largest economies to meet. Leaders of the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan and Russia will attend. The Council President and Commission President of the EU also participate in the event; as Ireland will hold the Presidency of the EU during the Summit, an Taoiseach will also attend the meeting. China and Brazil, whose economies have grown at spectacular rates in the past decade, are now ranked in the top eight global economies; however, invitations to the G8 have not yet been extended to these two nations. The G8 Summit will be the most significant global event ever to occur in Ireland.
Mr Cameron, the British Prime Minister, stated
I've decided the right place to hold it is right here in Northern Ireland and we'll be holding the G8 on the 17th and 18th of June at Lough Erne in County Fermanagh.
I think this will be a brilliant advertisement for Northern Ireland.
I want the world to see just what a fantastic place Northern Ireland is - a great place for business, a great place for investment, a place with an incredibly educated and trained workforce ready to work for international business.
And I also want to show the world, of course, what a beautiful place Northern Ireland is and Lough Erne, where I was this morning, is one of the most beautiful places in the entire United Kingdom
Cameron joked that he hoped he could keep Mr Obama off the golf course.
The summit will take place on June 17 and 18. Preparations in Enniskillen and County Fermanagh are likely to start immediately.

"PSNI are involved in a major investigation into criminality in north and west Belfast involving the UVF which stretches back over a considerable period of time and which runs parallel to the ombudsman investigation Operation Stafford.
"With regard to the investigation into the murder of Bobby Moffett, this remains a live investigation into which police have committed very considerable resources and gone to substantial length to bring charges.
"PSNI has left no stone unturned in the Moffett investigation and is greatly frustrated that it has not been able, thus far, to bring charges of murder against those involved."
