November 10, 2009: There's an interesting conundrum a brewing in western Australia: apparently, the sea level is rising at twice that of the global average. Data from the National Tidal Centre of Australia reports an increase of 8.6 mm a year compared to the global average of 3 mm. Why could this difference occur? Maybe temperature differences? At first blush, it's certainly confounding.
