August 12, 2008: The wife of Joel Osteen, the Houston-based pastor of one of the largest evangelical churches in the country, is accused of attacking a Continental Airlines [NYSE:CAL] flight attendant. Sharon Brown, a Continental employee, testified that Mrs. Osteen verbally and physically abused her in a flight in 2005 from Houston to Vail, Colorado. The alleged attack was supposedly triggered by the flight attendant's tardy response to clean up a spill on Mrs. Osteen's seat. Ms. Brown testified that Victoria Osteen threw her against a bathroom door in the forward section of the plane. Victoria Osteen testified that no such attack took place.
