November 10, 2009: Ernst and Young, in a recent report, claims that the economy in Northern Ireland is experiencing its worst recession ever. For many years, people presumed that Northern Ireland was, essentially, immune from problems that might beset the economies in either Great Britain or southern Ireland: a much percentage of the economy in the North is driven by government spending, which is essentially a-cyclical. The report claims that the economies in both the north and south are between one and two years from a recovery.
