November 16, 2009: Bishop Willie Walsh of the Diocese of Killaloe plans to retire in a few months when he reaches the age of 75. In a recent address to journalists in Dublin, the bishop has suggested that there should be a papal discussion on the ordination of women and on the rule of priestly celibacy. Bishop Walsh has also suggested the reception of the Eucharist should be available to protestants and those who have remarried.
