I guess there are two pieces of news here: (i) Iran has a space agency and, (ii) the Iranian Space Agency has announced plans to put a man on the moon. Iranian television announced the news last week. Apparently, the Agency wants to put an Iranian on the moon by 2020. The timing is under review and more news will be forthcoming, but apparently the agency is serious in its quest to have an Iranian explore the lunar surface. Iran also claimed that it has launched a two-stage rocket--a necessary first step in sending manned flights to our nearest neighbor.
